Breaking the Code
The club theatre trip this year was to watch “Breaking the Code”, a play about the tragic private life of Alan Turing, of Bletchley Park fame. The story tells of his controversial life and treatment by the Authorities in the less liberal period after the Second World War. The acting of the whole cast was exceptional but, in particular, the man who played Turing was in a class apart. He played a difficult role superbly including a soliloquy describing his mathematical principles which earned him a spontaneous round of applause, although most in the audience may not have understood his subject!
Fifteen members and friends watched the play over two performances.
